I bought this rocking horse from amazon (it actually came from [...]) for my 20 month old daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. She can climb on and off by herself (but she is tall for her age, 35 inches, so if your child is smaller he/she may need your help getting on and off). It is plush and comfortable for her to sit on, the rockers are sturdy and stable and it cost a lot less than the other comparable rocking horses I was looking at. It was easy to put together (just screw the legs onto the rockers and put some batteries in), and I assembled it myself in 10 minutes with just a phillips scredriver and pliers. Like someone else mentioned, if you press its ears, it makes neighing and galloping sounds, and its tail wags and mouth opens and closes. My daughter loves that feature. Two things to note – (1) it would be better if it had pegs for the child to rest her feet to stabilize herself – if the child isn’t tall enough to rest her feet on the rockers, she may lose her balance and slide to one side or another; (2) there are some stirrups that dangle from the bridle – my child got her feet caught in them and then tried to get off the horse, which would have caused her to fall if I hadn’t been there to extricate her, so you have to watch out for that or else cut the stirrups off.
Very cute little pony but was bought for a one year old and I think it is just a little too big for her. She loves petting him but doesn’t have enough power to rock him back and forth yet. She is barely walking on her own. We will just have to help her on her pony and wait until she gets the hang of riding before we can let her go. It’s kind of like putting a little girl on a real pony. We just did not realize we would have to rock him back and forth to ride. Real life-like though and haven’t figured out yet where to put the battery so that his ear dot will work. I took too much for granted that she would get on and know what to do. Good price and will be a good long time friend for a little girl.
Cute plush rocking horse that makes galloping and neigh noises when its ears are pressed. We bought it for our 15 month old and I think it would be better for 2-3+ – it’s pretty tall when assembled. But he loves it when we put him on it and help him rock. Easy to put together, and kidkraft is excellent if you need any replacement parts… just click and order, free of any charge, off their easy to use website.
what a great value and great quality. You should see the pics of my grandson on it. It says it all
